As my daughter approaches her 17th birthday it is now very clear that she has made me a better man.
I no longer simply accept the daily casual sexism that I don't wish her to endure.
I fight for the equal opportunities that I want her to experience.
She motivates me to set a better example and not to criticise in sexist terms.
I refuse to let her believe that something is unobtainable because of her sex.
I have followed and supported her through many new experiences, learning things otherwise missed.
I have learnt that in many ways she is a better person than I am and can now more clearly see when other women are too.
I have more to learn but I know that our daughters make us better men.
